After graduating from NYU film school in the mid 80's, Larry August began his professional career as a NYC cab driver, a porn film PA, and a hebrew school teacher... simultaneously. He moved from there to the agency world at Y & R and Doner where he began directing comedy spots for his agency friends and happily discovered a line of work that didn't involve heavy lifting. After opening Avalon Films in his home state of Michigan (still going strong 22 years later), Larry spread his directing mojo around North America working with companies like Crosswords, Story, Run Spot Run and Maxx among others. He's excited to be working with Von Piglet and some of the great creative agencies in the Northwest.
